As the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum comes into force, Europe is making defining choices about how people on the move are received, protected, and included.
Across Europe – including in Sweden – migration is increasingly shaped by control, deterrence, and restriction. But there is a counterforce.
Migrant and refugee collectives and their allies from the civil society, activists, faith communities, researchers, lawyers, museums, municipalities, local neighbourhoods – every day, they continue to defend another vision of Europe: one grounded in human dignity, solidarity, care, and belonging. One facing Europe’s historical and ongoing responsibility in the geopolitical conflicts, ecological and economic disasters, and global precariousness forcing millions to flee their homes.
Join A World of Neighbours for a public conversation about migration politics, solidarity, and the other Europe we will keep on building, on Wednesday, September 23rd at 5pm at St Jacobs Church, Kungsträdgården.
