Faith-based resistance: theology of liberation in the face of weaponized religion – join our next Learning & Exchange webinar!

Come learn about liberation theology in practice against the Hungarian authoritarian regime at our next Learning & Exchange webinar, on April 2nd at 4pm CET!

Change of time! The webinar will take place on Thursday, April 2nd at 4pm CET.

While the government of Viktor Orbán invokes Christianity to justify marginalizing policies, the Lutheran community of Mándak House, led by Pastor Márta Bolba, organizes initiatives supporting refugees, homeless people, and the Romani community in Budapest.

Veronika Thaller has found there an embodiment of a praxis inspired by Jesus. In her study, she interprets the community of Mándak House’s actions, such as social healing, confrontation with systemic oppression, and the rebuilding of inclusive communities, through passages from the Gospel of Mark. Mándak House appears as a model for faith-based resistance, offering a subversive response to the nationalist misuse of religious discourse.

Register now to hear more from Márta and Veronika and join us on April 2nd at 4pm!
