Anna Permondo

Croatia

Originally from Italy, Anna Permondo lives and works as a volunteer for the organisation “Per Un Mondo Migliore” (For a Better World) in Croatia and other former Yugoslavian countries.
Established in 1996, the organisation works with different groups of people–refugees, senior citizens, children and troubled teenagers and promotes the human values of tolerance, non-violent communication and voluntary contributions of each individual to their local community.

Anna Permondo helps organise and run camps for families and international groups that come to help out at the center and with the outreach work. Painting murals have become a hallmark of the organisation, used as an activity and method. It brings light and colour to the immediate surroundings and allows for people to collaborate, be creative and do something positive for the community they live in.
