Living as Neighbours podcast: Sanela Lepirica – Sarajevo

Sanela was a teacher in 2018 when police in her northern Bosnian town of Cljuč began stopping buses to turn back migrants seeking to cross the border into Croatia. With her father, a policeman, she began providing food, water, blankets, shelter to help those stranded on the road in freezing temperatures. Now, together with some of those refugees and migrants, she runs a social integration center in the city of Sarajevo.

Living as Neighbours: The podcast

Living as Neighbours is a podcast featuring conversations with women and men who have provided friendship and support to migrants and asylum seekers. Travelling to some of Europe’s most remote borders, Dutch theologian and artist Rikko Voorberg speaks with people who have opened their doors and have provided help to those seeking shelter and a safe place to live. ”Living as Neighbours” is an initiative of the Lutheran World Federation in collaboration with A World of Neighbours. The project is supported by the German government through the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GiZ).
