Parwana Amiri, author, activist and YAWoN member, shared her reflections on a very precious and promising time.
“It is not only about the program, but also about the people. It is where we find new connections, hear incredible stories, and engage in a true exchange of learning.”
A Young World of Neighbours (YAWN) is an initiative by the A World of Neighbours network. It aims to connect young people across Europe by fostering exchanges centered on art, culture, faith, and leadership, with a vision of building a more welcoming continent.
At the summit, I met highly accomplished and active youth from the Netherlands, Poland, Swiss and Germany. Their stories were incredible. Among them were representatives of interfaith initiatives, university ambassadors, and leaders of frontline and international organisations like the IOM.
The goal was to connect and plan for the future! In contrast to many youth organisations, YAWN is not pre-structured. Instead, it provides a space for young people to come together, learn, listen, and reflect on socio-political and religious topics as a collective.’
Thanks to the amazing participants and to the ERASMUS+ programme for supporting this bold and ambitious youth!
